P.T.has asthma. He also has a cold, a very bad cold. Which causes him to have a whooping sort of cough and other rather disgusting symptoms (meanwhile, he insists it's just a bad cold). Then his junior roommate mysteriously falls sick with the same symptoms. About a week after P.T. gets a girlfriend, the diagnosis comes out: pertussis, for which about half the school has had the vaccine, due to the most recent version of the tetanus booster. The other half is quarantined after sneezing, even if it was due to pepper stuffed up the nose. The administration gives up and creates a four day weekend. The verdict from the tests made in the meantime: only P.T. and roommate are sick. Although the entire schedule is screwed, and a Flanny paper, being due in those four days, ends up being delayed (actually another due date was also extended, as they created an extra day before exams which he didn't know about till a week before the lit analysis was to be turned in.)
