Blocked!

Ever since the internet came to GSSM, the administration has attempted to block objectionable content, and computer-savvy students have gleefully circumvented the filters. Such is the natural order of things. The only problem is that the "economy" filtering software inevitably purchased by Admin has a hard time determining what it should block, and what it shouldn't. Heaven forbid that high school juniors should be exposed to "News,Sports,Entertainment."

Another interesting example: the "FilterCube" software used from 2003 through 2005 would block textron.com because the text of the page referred to "commercial models" of helicopters; however, maxhardcore.com was completely accessible.
